Conklin Davis Center for the Visually Impaired

LIONS CLUB BRANCH

LIONS CLUB BRANCH FORMATION

The original agency, the Conklin Center for the Blind, was developed in 1979 as a Florida Lions project, and the Daytona Beach Lions Club served the Conklin Center for many years, but at one point, the Daytona Beach Lions Club ceased to exist.

After the 2021 merger with the Center for the Visually Impaired, the Conklin Davis Center for the Visually Impaired was formed, and it became apparent that a new Lions club should be developed.  Lions Clubs International allows for a club branch to be formed with fewer than the twenty members required to start an independent club.

So, to facilitate the birth of the new club, the Ponce Inlet Lions Club agreed to serve as the parent club of a branch club, and the Daytona Beach - Conklin Davis Lions Club Branch was formed in January 2024.

OUR MEMBERS

There are ten members, all of whom are either current or past employees or board members of the Center. The club is actively holding meetings and planning projects, and the members have agreed that the club’s mission is to support and advocate for the Conklin Davis Center.
